Wednesday’s child…
Have you seen the new Wednesday Addams TV show on Netflix? I love anything spooky and as a child of the 90s, The Addams Family was a real favourite so I had to give it a watch. I took a while to get into it, but after a few episodes, my cold, dead heart was really warming to it. Jenna Ortega initially felt a little too much like the popular kid at school for me to believe she could be an outcast, but by the time I got to that dance scene, I was totally sold. I loved the friendship between Wednesday and Enid, and have created a little bit of fan art, that you may have seen on my SM channels. I am hoping tog et a few more of the characters done, too.
2023!
Can you believe it’s nearly 2023? Time to get organised and start planning some goals! I am in the process of getting my goals for next year firmly into my awareness. And I know one of them will be to do more in-person events. I am already planning to go to Bologna Children’s Fair, in March, but would love to get some more UK based events in the diary too.
Speak of diaries, have you got your 2023 calendar yet? I HAVE! I’m so organised!
My amazing illo bestie and Friday Doodle Club co-host Macha Yao has released her much anticipated 2023 calendars. Full of her totally awesome, wonderfully colourful, illustrations. You can find it in her Etsy Shop.
The Snowman
I went to watch the Snowman on the weekend, with live music performed by The Amersham Brass Band. I knew I would love it, The Snowman defined Christmas for a whole generation in the UK and holds a really special place in so many hearts. Based on the 1978 picture book by Raymond Briggs, it is a story told through animated pictures with music scored by Howard Blake. It was truly a pleasure to enjoy it with my two young children, startled and delighted by the thunderous noises of the euphoniums and the trombones, and mesmerised by the wonderful piano and young children singing Walking in the Air.
Thanks so much for reading, it’s nice to catch up about a few little bits and bobs that might not fit into the themes of other newsletters. I think I will try to do one of these bulletin articles a month, if that is of interest.
Have a wonderful December, everyone!
